"That they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me." John 17:21 ESV
Cross Culture Church has been doing ministry in the Raleigh-Durham area since 2008. As you look back at the history, you’ll see our roots began with a group of followers of Jesus willing to lay aside personal preferences to do whatever is necessary to engage our culture with the message of Jesus Christ, and to be a church that crosses cultural barriers and brings people together for the glory of God. This group of believers began meeting at Leesville High School faithfully setting up and tearing down weekly. In 2020, Dan Johnson became the lead pastor of Cross Culture. Under his leadership, the body of believers moved into their first permanent home on Page Road in Durham, NC. In February 2022, we launched our Spanish ministry to minister to the Spanish community in their heart language under the leadership of Pastor Victor Hiraldo.
Our church is part of a network of churches called the Yates Baptist Association. Although we are glad to be affiliated with the Yates Baptist Association, you won’t hear us talk about it much. This is intentional. The mission is to work in cooperation with one another to impact the whole world with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Jesus prayed that his church would be one (John 17:21), and we believe there is really ONE church in the Kingdom of God. Denominations tend to divide us rather than unite us. We aren’t about trumpeting a label or a brand of Christianity. We exist to love Jesus and to inspire our community to love and follow Him so that every person is reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in every town, every city, every state, and every nation. (Read how we help reach the nations in our own backyard by partnering with local missionaries here with Global Gates.)
