Missions & Outreach

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
(Mark 16:15)

The world is a broken place. All over this planet there are people suffering. There are wars and famines, there is poverty and the homeless, there is loneliness, hopelessness, and despair. Worst of all billions of people are unaware of how much God loves them, and what He desires to do in their lives. In fact, the Bible says that, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." (Psalm 147:3) Jesus said, "I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly." (John 10:10b)

That's certainly Good News for a world filled with broken hearts and empty lives. The question is, how can people learn of God's love and redemption plan? How can they learn what it means, and what it takes to have a relationship with God? At Cross Culture Church we believe that we have to be the answer to that question. We can't put it off on somebody else. We can't hope somebody else will go. We can't make excuses. It's our calling and responsibility to take the "Good News" across the street and across the globe.

At Cross Culture Church we like to say, "Life is a mission trip." We encourage each other to see people through God's eyes, and then seek ways to share the love of God with the world around us everyday. We also seek to work together to share the message of Christ. That might mean ministering to teachers in a school, or providing a meal for a fire department, or having an activity for our community. But we also send teams all over the world to minister in the name of Christ. Sometimes that might mean building homes. Sometimes it might mean providing clean drinking water. Sometimes it might mean providing medical aid, but always it means demonstrating and declaring the "Good News" to those who desperately need to hear it. We go because He came, and we'll keep going until He comes again.

Love Your Neighbor Night

We’re taking a queue from Jesus by sitting down and sharing a meal with those around us that don’t know Christ. Cocooning ourselves in our own hectic little world is easier for us, and safer, but it’s not biblical. As some of you have heard me say before, we have to care enough about people and where they will spend eternity to invest in their lives.

We’re asking each person/family that attends Cross Culture to invite a neighbor/family over for dinner at your home. This is just one neighbor reaching out to another in hopes of building a relationship with that person/family. You may have neighbors that are followers of Jesus, and building a relationship with them is great, but we’re asking that on ‘Love Your Neighbor Night’ you specifically reach out to someone that is not active in a Bible believing church, and, as best as you can tell, is not a follower of Jesus.

Come on Cross Culture, we can do this! It may start with just one person, but if we worked together and truly reach out, it could be one hundred people. Each one, someone who may come to know the saving love of Christ.
